About Mathematics Olympiad:

Mathematics Olympiad can be considered as the oldest competition at the School level. The first International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) was held in 1959.

IMO has already created a very rich legacy and firmly established itself as the most prestigious mathematical competition in which a high-school student could aspire to participate. Apart from the opportunity to tackle interesting and very challenging mathematical problems, the IMO represents a great opportunity for high-school students to see how they measure up against students from the rest of the world. Perhaps even more importantly, it is an opportunity to make friends and socialize with students who have similar interests, possibly even to become acquainted with their future colleagues on this first leg of their journey into the world of professional and scientific mathematics.

The Regional Mathematics Olympiad Examinations were started in India in 1984. India appear in IMO since 1989.

There are four stages of Mathematics Olympiad Program in India – [1] Pre Regional Mathematics Olympiad (PRMO), [2] Regional Mathematics Olympiad (RMO), [3] Indian National Mathematics Olympiad (INMO), [4] IMO training Camp. The team of 6 students from IMOTC represent our Nation in IMO.
